GPU upgrade?

Any suggestions welcome.

Currently working with a Dell XPS 8920 running a i7-7700 CPU @ 3.60GHz 32Gb RAM, GTX 1060 6GB GPU and a couple of 4TB HDD's.  I know that the GTX1060 is a decent GPU but was wondering if anyone had a suggestion for upgraded GPU that would be at home in the currrent system.  Or is this pretty decent? :)

Any suggestions appreciated!

The primary thing you always need to decide first in any PC build or upgrade is: "what is my budget?"

So what is your budget? Then we can answer. GPUs range from $50 to thousands of dollars. Prices go upward in an accelerating curve. Power/results go upward in a decelerating curve. You can always (to a point) get a better card, but as you spend more and more you get less "bang for your buck"... but if you are rich that doesn't matter.

So what is your budget?

As a side note, you already have (1060 that has 6GB VRAM) a card that is one of the most efficient at price/performance ratio for faking. That's kind of the goto card for people who want to spend not a lot of money but be able to make decent fakes. So you aren't in bad shape already.

Well, if I can just upgrade the GPU then perhaps 1000 max.  Obviously I would rather be under that.  But its my top out limit

Buy used GTX 1080Ti or RTX 2080Ti (if anyone is selling it used). You can also check for used Quadros on the same architecture as 1000 and 2000 series as they typically have more VRAM.
