SAE automatic mask ?

dan

DF Vagrant
Hi There,

Using the latest DeepFaceLab version, I'm trying SAE for the first time (after using h128) with my low-end graphic card GTX-980 (4GB).

I'm not sure how to make it work, what should I change on the settings when running:

Code:
6) train SAE.bat

Even on very early tests, when converting SAE using:

Code:
7) convert SAE.bat

then

Code:
8) converted to mp4.bat

There is no automatic masking,
I thought it should work for hands / fingers over the face but I probably need to change something on step #6 ?

I also tried manually using:

Code:
5.4) data_dst mask editor.bat
BEFORE training again since I'm trying to follow the order of the steps.

saving the selected frames using "C" key, and still... when training again, converting and finalizing to .mp4   even the manual mask changes did not apply.

1. How or what settings do I need to change on THE LATEST VERSION (since it's different from what I used before) to get Auto-Mask work?
2. How do I apply the new changed manual mask using step #5.4 (after I did save using "C" key for sure) to the converted mp4 ?

I hope that somone can explain that, thanks ahead!

I'm new at this so it could be wrong, but I think this will at least get you on the right track.

For the mask editor to work you need to enable learn mask during the training. You need to choose this during the first/initial setup of the training, you can't change it later (but you can hack it apparently)

Then when converting, you need to choose one of the FAN options in mask mode for automatic masking.

If none of that makes sense, I got the info from the following links where it's explained much better...

Explains all the settings & what they mean:

FAQ (info to change/hack the learn mask setting. Look for the blue text):

Good luck

As in FAQ, for obstructions you want to use FAN-DST or any other FAN mask mode, you don't need learned mask for obstructions.
