[FIX] How To Train Old DFL Models On Colab and Windows (13.09 update) Guides and Tutorials
Post Message
Since update 13.09 (and 14.09 commit that fixed performance drop when training SAE models on 13.09 update) SAE model no longer supports multiscale decoder so all models that have been trained with that feature enabled do not work anymore.

Quick method to let you to train old Multiscale Decoder models on Colab is cloning an older version of DeepFaceLab and using it instead of the new version, you loose some features and as the new updates come you will be using old and outdated version but this way you can at least keep making fakes with your old trained models. Other way would be to make new models or try to "retrain" your models by deleting decoder files from model folder and leaving only encoder and data files but this method hasn't been confirmed 100% as to whether the way they train after that is correct (and they still take some time to recover, in my experience it's around 20-30% faster than training from 0 to get previews to look similar as they did before).

Before you Clone, we're gonna go into the code and add a couple of lines.

Now paste these lines

Code:
  %cd /content/DeepFaceLab

  !git checkout bc0b25cdda51942c3ad40770fc6200477ae32e61
Then hit Play as normal, and boom! You can train using an older version.

If you still want to use old models but want fixes to converter and new color match/transfer models that were introduced in 13.09 get the previous version (07.09 release) and download this: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view.
Inside this zip is _internal folder that contains files that were updated in 13.09 but without changed model files (so you get all new color transfers and other conversion fixes). Replace files in your _internal/DeepFaceLab with those from zip or just copy/unpack _internal into the main folder where all .bat files are and just press yes when asked to replace. Only for 07.09 version of DFL (made it with 10.1 SSE but it should work with AVX one too, not sure about 9.2 and OpenCLSSE).
