Family
Alicia Silverstone was born in Hillsborough, California to parents Monty Silverstone and Deirdre Radford-Silverstone. Her father is an English real estate business owner while her mother is a Scottish former Pan Am flight attendant. Alicia also has two half-siblings from her father’s previous marriage: David Silverstone, a set decorator, and Kezi Silverstone, a singer-songwriter.

Alicia was born to a Jewish family. Her father was born Jewish while her mother converted to Conservative Judaism before getting married.

Education
Alicia Silverstone studied in Cocker Middle School and graduated from San Mateo High School. She then proceeded to study at Old Dominion University in Virginia. However, she then decided to pursue her modeling career after a short period of time.

Career
Alicia started modeling as early as six years old. Eventually, she got signed for a Domino’s Pizza endorsement. After some time, she also participated in Teen Idol when she was only 16 years old.

Then in 1992, she had her debut TV show in the American comedy-drama series entitled The Wonder Years. She appeared in one episode called “Road Test” where she played the role of Jessica Thomas.

It was 1993 when she finally had her Hollywood debut movie entitled The Crush. It is an American psychological thriller film in which she performed as Adrienne Forrester. This role gave her the MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough Performance and Best Villain.

In 1995, she was then cast by Amy Heckerling for the comedy film Clueless. This role brought her unexpected fame and success. And when 2003 came, she was already the star of an NBC series entitled Miss Match. Albeit short-lived, the show gave her the nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in Television Series, Musical or Comedy.

However, there was also a dark time in her career. Batman & Robin (1997) is considered to be the worst English movie by Alicia Silverstone. Because of this film, she was given the Worst Supporting Actress title by Razzi Awards.

Fortunately, Alicia also has several awards to be proud of. This includes the American Comedy Awards for Funniest Actress in a Motion Picture, MTV Movie Awards for Best Female Performance, and Most Desirable Female.

Relationships
Alicia Silverstone briefly dated Adam Sandler, an American actor and comedian, in 1996. After that ended, she worked on a show entitled Excess Baggage where she was rumored to date her co-worker, the Puerto Rican actor Benicio. This was somewhere between 1996 and 1997.

However, her most significant relationship was with Christopher Jarecki. He is an actor, radio show host, and rock musician best known for being the frontman in the band S.T. U. N. The two first met outside a movie theater and began dating around 1997. Seven years later, Christopher proposed to Alicia with his grandmother’s ring and she said yes.

Fast forward to June 11, 2005, Christopher and Alicia officially became husband and wife in a beachfront ceremony at Lake Tahoe. They then lived together in an eco-friendly house in Los Angeles, complete with an organic vegetable garden and solar panels.

Alicia’s marriage to Christopher was blessed with a son, Bear Blu Jarecki, on May 5, 2011. Unfortunately, the two of them separated in 2016 although the news only became public in February 2018. Eventually, Alicia filed for divorce in May 2018.
