Poonam Pandey is an Indian film actress and known for her workins in Bollywood and Telugu cinema as a nude model. She began her career as a model. She became one of the top nine contestants of the Gladrags Manhut and Megamodel Contest and appeared on the cover page of the fashion magazine.

Pandey became popular through her social media accounts. Her revealing and semi-nude photos have caught much media attention. She began to rise to the media spotlight when she made a promise to strip for the Indian cricket team if it won the 2011 Cricket World Cup. India won the said World Cup; But, due to public disapproval and denied permission by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Pandey wasn’t able to fulfill her promise. Despite these, she still uploaded a video online where she is seen stripping naked at the Wankhede Stadium at night. In 2012, sge also posed nude after Kolkata Knight Riders won the IPL 5. These were the start of her rise in the media spotlight.

She developed her own mobile application where Google banned after it was launched in the Play Store and currently available in her official site only. She posts regular updates on her life, and also uses it as a platform to upload her explicit content and nude videos.

As an actress, Pandey appeared in different movies and television shows such as, Love is Poision, The Journey of Karma, and Total Nadaniyaan. She was the lead star of the film Nasha in 2013, where she played a teacher who ends up having a sexual relationship with one of her students. The posters of the film which featured her "clad in nothing, but two placards tactfully placed to cover her body", had an issue where people and a group of protesters tore the posters and set them on fire in Mumbai. The general secretary of Shiv Sena Chitrapat also expressed their objections to Pandey's too much showing of skin in the advertisements, as they find the poster highly vulgar and derogatory.
Despite these issues and different opposition expressed by different groups, Pandey signed on to star in the planned sequel to Nasha as Anita.
